Digital Literacy

As technology evolves, we encounter more and more information every day — including mis- and disinformation. Digital literacy is the ability to use the internet and other digital tools to find accurate information and apply that information to our own lives.

You can use the resources on this page to cultivate digital literacy in your community.

Learn more about how to use the resources on this page.

Why Teach Digital Literacy Skills?

You likely encounter people in your community with a wide range of experiences and comfort levels with technology. For example, some people grew up with the internet, and others didn’t. Some people like to try new apps and social media platforms right away, while others are more hesitant. And some community members lack access to broadband internet at home.

By teaching digital literacy skills, you can help to give everyone the skills they need to navigate online information.
